The Role
The Trade Marketing Lead: POS Activation is essential for turning commercial strategy into clear and consistent in-store actions. This position defines and leads the national activation plan across selected sales locations to guarantee strong brand presence, engaging promotions, and efficient retail performance.
Success in this role is defined by the ability to connect planning with in-market action. This includes developing practical guidelines, supporting field teams and partners, and tracking performance using clear benchmarks and data-driven insights.
This role requires solid trade marketing experience in FMCG or retail. It also demands the ability to work independently, influence collaborators, and turn shopper and market insights into actionable activation plans.
Your Day-To-Day
Drive executional excellence in trade
- Develop and implement clear activation and visibility guidelines across categories and channels.
- Translate commercial and category strategies into practical execution standards within retail environments.
- Establish “perfect store” criteria and guarantee uniform application throughout trade.
Deliver impactful retail activations
- Lead the implementation of trade activations supporting brand campaigns, product launches, and promotional activity.
- Build activation toolkits that promote steady implementation across retail channels.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and effective market delivery.
Strengthen in-trade execution
- Partner with field teams to identify execution gaps and continuously improve visibility and promotional efficiency.
- Ensure planograms and merchandising standards are clearly defined and consistently implemented.
- Support teams in translating guidelines into strong in-store execution.
Leverage data and insights
- Use shopper, retail, and sales data to inform trade marketing decisions and activation strategies.
- Analyse market and performance data (e.g. Nielsen and internal sales data) to find opportunities and measure impact.
- Transform insights into actionable steps that boost trade performance.
Collaborate and influence
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Category, Brand, and Commercial Planning teams to ensure alignment of implementation with broader commercial priorities.
- Build effective partnerships with agencies and suppliers to deliver high-quality activation solutions.
- Engage collaborators confidently to drive alignment and execution excellence.

Who We’re Looking For
- Relevant qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong understanding of end-to-end marketing cycles from promotional planning & production cycles through to Go-to- market planning and excellent execution.
- Strong experience in trade marketing, shopper marketing, or retail activation within FMCG or a fast paced consumer environment.
- Proven track record to develop detailed briefs and managed third party suppliers in line with set critical metrics.
- Proven track record to deliver basic analysis of data: e.g. sales performance (Nielsen), shopper research, etc.
- Experience developing and accomplishing in-store activations and visibility programmes.
- Ability to examine data and convert insights into practical suggestions.
- Experience managing agencies, suppliers, and cross-functional collaborators.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
