The Digital Content Creator forms part of PMI South Africa’s Early Careers / Internship Programme and is designed to provide hands-on experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing, and campaign execution while building foundational skills across the broader digital ecosystem, including eCRM, web, and paid media.

 

Programme Details

Position: Digital Content Creator Intern

Duration: 12-Month Internship Programme

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Start Date: Immediate

Eligibility: Open to South African citizens only

Stipend: Monthly stipend offered

Relocation: Relocation support is not offered for this opportunity

What You’ll Be Doing

Throughout the programme, you’ll gain practical exposure across multiple areas within Digital Marketing and Content Creation, including:

 

Social Media & Content Creation

  • Support the creation, editing, and publishing of digital and social media content
  • Assist with content planning and content calendar management
  • Create engaging content aligned to brand objectives and consumer needs
  • Support content adaptation across multiple digital platforms and channels
  • Monitor content performance and chip in ideas to improve engagement

 

Digital Campaign Support

  • Assist with implementation of digital campaigns across social media, eCRM, web, and paid media channels
  • Support campaign asset management and content deployment
  • Assist with campaign reporting and performance tracking
  • Contribute to campaign optimisation recommendations based on performance insights

 

 

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Coordinate everyday execution of digital projects and activities
  • Track project timelines and support on-time delivery of campaigns
  • Assist with collaborator communication and status reporting
  • Support integrated campaign execution across multiple teams

 

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Review and proofread content before publication
  • Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines, legal requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Support quality assurance checks across digital deliverables

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Digital, Brand, Legal, Commercial, and agency teams
  • Support collaborator engagement and project coordination activities
  • Assist in ensuring alignment across campaign objectives and deliverables

Minimum Requirements

  • Completed National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related field
  • Maximum of 2 years working experience
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Must be available to start immediately
  • Ability to commit to a full-time 12-month internship programme

 

Advantageous

  • Honours or Masters Degree
  • Previous internship, freelance, campus, or work experience involving social media, content creation, marketing, communications, or digital campaigns
