Role Summary

The IT VMO Financial Manager oversees financial governance for vendors within the Vendor Management Office (VMO) scope. This role consolidates and monitors BAU budgets, ensures compliance, and partners with Finance, IT Strategy & Planning, and SMOs to optimize vendor-related financial performance.

Purpose of the Role

The IT VMO Financial Manager is responsible for managing and controlling the BAU budgets and spending for vendors within the VMO scope. This role ensures financial governance across IT vendor engagements, supports strategic planning, and provides accurate budget tracking and reporting to enable informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Management & Control
  • Consolidate and monitor BAU budgets for all vendors under VMO scope.
  • Track actuals vs. forecasts and ensure compliance with financial targets.
  • Provide financial insights to support cost optimization and vendor performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Finance, IT Strategy & Planning, and Service Management Offices (SMOs) across IT platforms.
  • Align vendor financials with IT strategic objectives and portfolio priorities.
  • Facilitate communication between VMO and SMOs to ensure accurate consumption reporting.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for VMO leadership and IT governance forums.
  • Identify and analyze vendor spend patterns.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and risk management related to vendor financials.
  • Ensure adherence to PMI financial policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of vendor-related financial transactions and commitments.

Key Interactions

  • Internal: Finance, IT Strategy & Planning, SMOs, Service Management Office (SMO), IT Vendor Managers.
  • External: Strategic vendors within VMO scope.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong background in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Experience in IT vendor management or related procurement/finance roles.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills; proficiency in financial tools.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple IT platforms and stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of IT service delivery and vendor governance frameworks.
