Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager who excels in a fast-paced FMCG setting? Do you have a passion for operational excellence, inventory accuracy, adherence to regulations, safety, and guiding third-party logistics partners to provide outstanding service?
We seek a Warehouse Manager to manage our finished goods warehousing operations. This role involves maintaining high standards in inventory management, service delivery, safety, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in driving operational excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external logistics providers to deliver top-tier warehouse performance.
Your day-to-day
Warehouse Operations & Performance
- Manage comprehensive warehouse operations via third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Monitor and manage 3PL performance against agreed service level agreements and critical metrics.
- Conduct regular warehouse audits to ensure operational excellence and contractual compliance.
- Foster regular improvement activities to raise service levels, reduce shrinkage, control costs, and improve productivity.
- Prepare and present warehouse performance reports and operational insights to management.
Inventory Management
- Ensure accurate receipt, storage, movement, picking, packing, and returns processing of finished goods.
- Lead stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits in collaboration with internal team members and logistics partners.
- Ensure SAP transactions and inventory reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
- Manage inventory ageing, product extensions, and stock availability in collaboration with Planning and Quality teams.
- Ensure adherence to product storage standards and quality requirements across all warehouses.
- Oversee customer returns, stock destruction, and recycling processes in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure complete adherence to Track & Trace requirements and inventory management policies.
Compliance, Safety & Customs
- Ensure warehouse operations align with company policies and local regulatory requirements.
- Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety adherence in every aspect of warehouse operations.
- Partner with EHS teams to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure security standards and protocols are upheld throughout all warehouse facilities.
- Supervise bonded warehouse processes and ensure complete conformity with Customs and Excise standards.
- Support external audits and investigate inventory discrepancies where required.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures and warehouse operating standards.
- Find opportunities to improve warehouse productivity through benchmarking and process optimisation.
- Support new business initiatives by assessing warehouse capacity and operational impacts.
- Promote Lean and ongoing improvement approaches throughout warehouse operations.
- Leverage technology and warehouse management systems to improve efficiency and visibility.
- Promote guidelines and knowledge sharing across local and regional operations.
Financial & Contract Management
- Assist with warehouse budgeting and cost planning efforts.
- Monitor warehouse expenditure against budget and investigate variances.
- Partner with Finance to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
- Manage 3PL contracts, monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure contract obligations are achieved and continuously improved.
Collaborator & People Management
- Build strong relationships with internal collaborators and logistics partners.
- Ensure third-party teams understand and align with company operating standards, SOPs, and safety requirements.
- Promote an environment of ownership, partnership, and constant development within warehouse operations.
What we’re looking for
- Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ Warehouse Management experience within a fast-moving FMCG environment.
- Proven experience managing third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and outsourced warehouse operations.
- Strong inventory management, warehouse control and SAP experience.
- Experience managing bonded warehouses and customs or excise-controlled products would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of warehouse benchmarks, budgeting, and cost management.
- Experience in carrying out continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes.
- Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong collaborator management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capability.
