This opportunity forms part of our 12-month internship programme, designed to provide hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to a global business environment. We are looking for a Quality Control Intern to join our Operations team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about quality, food safety, manufacturing excellence, and continuous improvement, and who is eager to gain experience within a world-class production environment.
Your Day to Day
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and finished product inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform sampling, testing, measurements, and routine quality checks throughout the production process.
- Monitor critical quality control points and verify adherence to product specifications.
- Inspect packaging, coding, labelling, and palletising activities to ensure compliance with standards.
- Identify, isolate, and report non-conforming products.
- Support the management of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective action processes.
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, traceability documentation, and quality reports.
- Support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety requirements, and company quality management systems.
- Assist with internal and external audits and support audit preparation activities.
- Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Quality teams to address quality concerns.
- Promote quality awareness and contribute to a culture of operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- Honours Degree, Degree, or National Diploma in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree will be advantageous.
- Less than 2 years of working experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety systems, quality management systems, or manufacturing quality practices will be advantageous.
- Exposure to quality inspection, testing, auditing, or continuous improvement methodologies will be beneficial.
- Must be available to commence the internship programme on the specified start date.
- Must be able to work on-site at the designated location.
- No relocation support will be provided.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for employment.
