THE OPPORTUNITY

As Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Quality department at Philip Morris Investments Bergen op Zoom, reporting to the Supervisor Quality Engineering. You will provide quality expertise and support across departments to ensure high standards for materials, products, and processes. You will drive continuous improvement through non-conformity management, CAPA processes, customer satisfaction initiatives, and quality system enhancement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical quality support to improve material, product, and process performance. Support manufacturing process reviews and characterization activities.
  • Investigate non-conformities and deviations, determine containment actions, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and related procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives using Total Quality, Lean Manufacturing, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
  • Manage internal and external quality complaints, conduct investigations, perform trend analysis, identify preventive actions, and maintain quality reporting.
  • Lead or support internal audits, self-inspections, quality system audits, and external audits. Ensure findings are documented and corrective actions are implemented and monitored.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive compliance, standardization, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. Deliver training related to QMS, quality processes, and product quality.
  • Promote PMI standards related to quality, health, safety, and environment. Identify and report risks to employees, company assets, and business operations while ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technology, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Above 1 year of experience in quality engineering within tobacco, food, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of ISO, ICH, GMP, and related quality standards.
  • Experience with OPEN+, PMI's lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodology.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, IT, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality tools, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, Dutch is preferably.
