To strengthen our team, we are currently sourcing a Junior Key Account Manager.

Purpose of the role:

Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI) is a leading global tobacco company committed to delivering a smoke-free future by transforming its business and products. PMI is undergoing a significant transformation, focusing on innovative solutions and sustainable practices to create a better future for adult smokers.

To strengthen our team, we are seeking a Junior Key Account Manager for the Netherlands. As a Junior Key Account Manager, you will work closely with the National Key Account Manager and the Key Account Managers to support the development and execution of competitive Key Account strategies across all channels. Your role focuses on collaboration, analysis, and contributing to Account growth. 

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Build Tailormade Account Activation plans:
    • Help develop tailor-made activation plans for Accounts. Ensure these plans align with commercial objectives, like:
    • Profit-driven category management.
    • Achieving objectives in terms of revenue, market share, and other established KPIs.
    •  In close collaboration with Field Sales, Trade Engagement, CC + SFP Marketing teams, Portfolio teams, Business Planning, and Logistics to ensure smooth execution and alignment.
  • Data Analysis & Financial support:
    • Provide insights and conduct data analysis using both internal and external information to identify growth opportunities and help steer performance at Channels & Accounts.
    • Support the handling of payment workflows to ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in financial transactions with Key Accounts.
  • Category and Channel support:
    • Contribute to enhancing knowledge of tobacco and smoke-free products among Accounts and channel partners. Use market insights to support internal teams.  
  • Shared Responsibility for a few smaller Accounts:
    • Take joint responsibility for a portfolio of smaller accounts. Ensure effective execution of plans and contribute to category development.
    • Develop a strong understanding of Key Account Management by actively engaging in stakeholder management, negotiations, internal and external alignment, and the execution and evaluation of plans and activities

 

Our ideal candidate

 

  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience with a proven track record of commercial success
  • Hands-on mentality, creative, curious, proactive, and entrepreneurial.
  • Hungry to grow and eager to learn: Demonstrates a strong willingness to develop professionally, absorb new knowledge, and take initiative in learning the ins and outs of Key Account Management.
  • Enjoys exploring and analysing data: Gains satisfaction from investigating and performing analyses using tools like Excel and Power BI to uncover insights and support decision-making.
  • Strong social and communication skills; able to build good customer relationships at different levels.
  • Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and to our Benelux headquarters in Antwerp


What will the selection process look like?

Talent Acquisition (TA) will perform an initial screening to assess whether candidates match with the defined vacancy requirements. If this is the case, the candidate will be invited for 2 competency-based (virtual) interviews. In parallel, you will be asked to complete online assessment tests*. At the end of the process, each candidate will receive the assessment results, as well as actionable feedback for their further development. Please note that we expect the courtesy from your side to inform your current manager about your interest and application, especially after the first interview.

*Assessment Tests The tests are integrated in the selection process to increase objectivity of the final decision making. The assessment tests for this role is a cognitive ability test. The results will not be saved in the employee’s file, and will only be used in the context of the vacancy for which the employee is applying. Results are therefore not used for purposes of performance evaluation.
