THE OPPORTUNITY
In this role, you are responsible for building the company’s reputation through all relevant communication channels. You will manage the overall communication strategy and day-to-day execution for internal and external stakeholders, including media, to ensure consistent and impactful messaging aligned with PMI’s vision.

You will work closely with senior leaders, department heads, and employees to maintain a strong and positive presence across both traditional and digital platforms.
 

Responsibilities of the role:

• Develop and execute an integrated communication strategy for the Netherlands, aligned with our global vision and regional (regulatory) priorities
• Be a spokesperson in the media for Philip Morris In The Netherlands
• Build and maintain a strong external network across media and other key stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted advisor to management on all external communication matters (e.g., interviews, speeches, media appearances).
• Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams on strategic communications and corporate events.
• Provide communication guidance to internal business units to ensure alignment and best practices.
• Coordinate with the value chain to ensure external messaging reflects our mission, vision, and products.
• Manage media monitoring systems and ensure internal stakeholders are informed of relevant developments.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Have a demonstrable and active media network with top-tier Dutch national, professional and regional media outlets
• Bachelor or Master degree in Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations.
• 10-15 years of experience in corporate communications, PR, ideally within both corporate and public settings.
• Experience working with complex stakeholder landscapes, including top management and regulated industries, is preferred.
• Have an active network in Dutch civil society
• Proven track record in formulating and executing strategic communication strategies, delivering media results and advising senior executives.
• Strong storytelling, writing, and presentation skills (including digital and social media).
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear, accessible messaging.
• Effective relationship builder across diverse audiences and organizational levels.
• Able to manage multi priorities in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Have the ability to tailor-make messages to specific audiences to communicate with impact.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
