Your ‘day to day’

As the Manager Communications, you will lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies across China Mainland and the HK/MO SAR markets. You will support PMI’s business priorities, regulatory advocacy, reputation building, and global transformation agenda.

Lead Integrated Communication Strategy

  • Develop comprehensive communication strategies for China Mainland and HK/MO SAR to address business priorities, regulatory topics, and corporate reputation needs.
  • Drive narrative development around technology innovation, industry transformation, harm‑reduction, and illicit trade reduction.
  • Adapt global communication initiatives and campaigns to local market needs, ensuring relevance, impact, and strategic alignment with business goals. 

 

Strengthen Media & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and manage strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, business/trade press, and social media platforms across China and HK/MO.
  • Identify influential channels to amplify PMI’s corporate story and enhance senior executives’ visibility and thought leadership.

 

Drive Media Advocacy & Campaign Management

  • Develop and execute media advocacy programs, including message house creation, earned/paid media planning, amplification strategies, and third‑party activations.
  • Manage interviews, media events, and opportunities that advance PMI’s positioning.

 

Corporate Equity & Executive Visibility

  • Elevate PMI’s corporate image and leadership presence through targeted platforms such as industry forums, business associations, and stakeholder networks.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce executive viewpoints aligned with PMI’s transformation agenda. 

 

Crisis & Issues Management

  • Support market‑level crisis preparedness, rapid response, and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and regional leadership.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Economics, Public Affairs or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in Communications, Corporate Affairs, and/or Public Affairs, ideally within multinational companies.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage public relations and corporate communications objectives
  • Significant experience in government, political campaigns, and corporate communications
  • Experience in highly regulated sectors such as tech innovation, pharma, F&B, chemical, or energy; political and industry-specific knowledge is an advantage
  • Strategic thinker and exceptional communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience in public affairs, media relations, and regulatory communications
  • Corporate‑savvy, business‑centric mindset with belief in technology‑driven positive change.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
