Your day-to-day
Responsible to providing ongoing, on-floor quality support that ensures optimal, cost-effective quality assurance while contributing to achieving production volume targets and consistently delivering high-quality finished goods to market.
Ensure Compliance and Safety
- Uphold adherence to PMI standards, legal regulations, and Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) guidelines.
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through preventive and predictive measures aligned with the Integrated Operating System (IOS).
Production Support
- On-floor quality support for Reduced Risk Products, ensuring compliance with Philip Morris International (PMI) standards.
- Oversee self-inspection processes using effective sampling plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and digital tools such as Zoom QC.
- Train and transfer knowledge on new processes, guidelines, and quality requirements to stakeholders.
Non-Conformity Management
- Provide comprehensive support for product and process non-conformities, including investigations, risk assessments, and root cause analysis using Integrated Operating System (IOS)problem-solving tools.
- Ensure timely investigation and resolution of product and material non-conformities, managing Non-Conformity/Corrective Action & Preventive Action (NC-CAPA) processes to drive quality improvements.
- Approve or reject non-conformities and action plans as required.
Quality Management System (QMS) Support
- Assist in creating and reviewing procedures, work instructions, and other quality documents.
- Provide training and support in alignment with the training management system.
Continuous Improvement
- Offer recommendations and feedback to support performance objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement quality improvement programs leveraging IOS tools to meet quality standards, achieve cost savings, and enhance processes.
- Monitor Quality Loss on goods destroyed (LOGD) costs for semi-finished and finished goods, ensuring prompt screening, decision-making, and cost booking.
- Resolve critical consumer complaints with a focus on customer satisfaction and process impact assessment.

- Lead and develop a skilled and motivated team to achieve performance goals and professional growth in alignment with PMI’s leadership model.
- Foster an environment encouraging team members to maximize their talents and potential.
- Develop and implement qualification matrices and training pathways for all roles.
- Facilitate collaboration within Quality Systems and across functions, building internal and external relationships to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Who we’re looking for:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent skills demonstrated through experience.
- 5+ years in quality engineering within tobacco, food, pharmaceutical, or similar FMCG industries.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Expertise in quality tools, root cause analysis, and the ability to translate statistical data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in ISO, GMP, GCP, ICH, and GLP standards.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in MS Office; FDA inspection experience is an asset.
- Quick learner with strong teaching capabilities and excellent analytical skills.
Annual Base Salary Range: $128,000-$176,000
