  Your ‘day to day’

 

The Environmental Coordinator performs, directs, coordinates, and manages workplace activities to create an environmental compliance environment.  This individual works to protect or improve air, land, and water resources.   

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

  • Assists with creating, reviewing and managing Environmental policies, guidelines, and practices at the site to ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations and standards while incorporating industry best management practices and engineering principles.
  • Supervises administration of Environmental policies and practices at the site.
  • Assists in planning, organizing, and controlling Environmental activities and budgets.
  • Participates in developing Environmental goals, objectives and systems for the facility.
  • Responsible for investigating Environmental related incidents and working with resources to determine root- cause and develop corrective actions.
  • Educates and coaches members of the organization on Environmental related principles.
  • Responsible for assisting in the management of internal and external auditing of Environmental programs.
  • Collaborates with management team, employees and contracted services to carry out Environmental program activities.
  • Assists in data collection and recording for Environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Assists in the identification, analysis and control of environmental hazards by applying professional knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Maintains recordkeeping for Environmental programs.
  • Advises on environmental requirements for installations or modifications of building/structures, storage and piping systems, and machinery or equipment for compliance with regulations.
  • Assists with management and shipments of hazardous waste and hazardous materials.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development through participation in continuing education offerings that maintain and update knowledge of Environmental practices including applicable legal regulations.
  • Support occasional weekend air monitoring requirements and availability for on call on off shift for environmental matters
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental related Sciences or equivalent experience required.  Environmental certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in filing regulatory environmental reports preferred
  • Knowledge in 40 CFR Environmental Regulations; 49 CFR DOT Regulations
  • ISO 14001 Environnemental Management System preferred
  • Must possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to meet and interact with entire employee population
  • Strong computer, oral, and written communication and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Must be self-directed and able to exercise initiative within the scope of assigned authority
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality are a must
  • Fluent in English
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Required)

 

Annual Base Salary Range: $88,000 – $110,000
